45 Years of Audiovector

Founded in Copenhagen in 1979 by Ole Klifoth, Audiovector soon drew some attention with its unusual design approaches.

The hi-fi world was amazed by the Audiovector Trapeze loudspeaker models with their striking cabinets that were all kinds of asymmetrical, almost entirely avoiding parallel surfaces and thus virtually eliminating standing waves in the cabinet.

45 Years of Audiovector

The company’s entire history is characterized by developments that consistently ignored all well-trodden paths – often with groundbreaking results. Perhaps the most remarkable characteristic of Audiovector’s speakers is the modular design introduced with the SR series, which allows subsequent upgrades to higher-ranking models within the same line. A look at current models such as the R series reveals dozens of technical details that are as unique as they are brilliant – a rear-firing bass-midrange driver to improve soundstaging or the “Freedom Grounding System” for earthing the chassis baskets are just two examples.

To mark the company’s 45th anniversary, the manufacturer, now managed by founder’s son Mads Klifoth, has gone back to the roots and reinvented the trapeze: Virtually identical on the outside, the Trapeze Reimagined takes full advantage of decades of development experience as well as the latest developments in materials, components and measurement technology. Our congratulations and best wishes for continued innovation beyond the ordinary.

Here’s a video where Ole and Mads Klifoth explain the history and the core values of Audiovector.
