An old familiar boasting exciting new features: With the Concept, Clearaudio takes a tried-and-tested turntable and upgrades it to the Signature variant with a number of far-reaching improvements, which primarily benefit its flexibility. Although it comes as an almost completely pre-assembled plug’n’play device, it can not only be combined with a range of different tonearms and cartridges: Where previously there was an analog on/off switch and speed control, an encoder now provides an indication of the future option of an integrated phono stage. If this is installed, the controller also functions as a volume control and thus enables a competent minimal setup in conjunction with a pair of active speakers, for example.
The icing on the cake is the completely new motor, the speed of which is now precisely monitored by a tacho-generator and precisely controlled by a chip. This new control technology with integrated auto-calibration, new setting options and additional Tacho Speed Control (“TSC”) achieves even better measured values in terms of wow & flutter and transient response.
