They are known above all for their absolutely uncompromising uber-racks, which are beyond any doubt in terms of technology and sound, but are unfortunately far out of the budget for most people. With the Pagode Signature Mk II, Finite Elemente has simmered down its range-topping racks to a model at around half the purchase price while largely retaining the impressive sound performance by making clever savings in exactly the right places.
The “little” Finite Elemente does away with the elaborate ceramic ball-bearing shelves and the proprietary resonator technology, but retains the healthy basic structure: The construction with T-profile aluminum pillars and component platforms with an ultra-light honeycomb core ensures targeted damping and dissipation rather than uncontrolled storage of vibration energy, true to the manufacturer’s philosophy. The rigid coupling of the individual levels via side spikes follows the same approach, resulting in the extremely open and controlled sonic non-character of the rack – a Finite Elemente through and through.
