McIntosh Announces the Launch of the MIP200 Power Controller, Offering Advanced Protection for Premium Home Audio Systems
McIntosh, a renowned global leader in high-end audio technology, is pleased to introduce the MIP200 Power Controller, the latest addition to its portfolio. Designed to safeguard valuable home audio systems from electrical disturbances, the MIP200 provides protection against surges, overvoltage incidents, brownouts, and more, ensuring uninterrupted performance and system integrity.
The MIP200 is built with cutting-edge technology to deliver superior AC power protection. Its thermally protected metal-oxide varistor (TPMOV) offers enhanced safety compared to standard MOVs by eliminating common failure risks. In addition to surge protection, the MIP200 features electromagnetic interference (EMI) filtering and customizable over/under voltage protection. When unsafe voltage levels are detected, the system automatically shuts off the power, only restoring it when conditions are secure, giving users peace of mind.
Designed to meet a range of global power standards, the MIP200 is available in two configurations: 4 Type B1 (NEMA 5-15R) outlets with 2 receptacles each, or 4 Type F1 (CEE 7/3 or “Schuko”) outlets with 1 receptacle each. An always-on outlet provides continuous power to critical components, while other outlets can be managed via the front panel, rear panel Power Control, or RS232 ports. Programmable delays for each outlet further enhance system safety by minimizing inrush current and reducing the risk of tripping circuit breakers.
The MIP200’s 2U rack-mountable design allows for seamless integration into custom home theater or whole-home audio systems, saving space while maintaining a clean, organized layout. This versatile design pairs effortlessly with McIntosh’s range of amplifiers and A/V processors, optimizing both performance and aesthetic appeal.
The front panel includes an AC line monitor, offering real-time information on input voltage, current draw, and total apparent power. Encased in McIntosh’s signature black glass front panel with aluminum trim, illuminated logo, and control knobs, the MIP200 blends functionality with sophisticated design.
