“Jack of all trades and master of none”? The Keces Sphono absolutely doesn’t have to put up with this accusation. The feature set is indeed remarkable – the power supply, which is located in its own housing, is only the most obvious trait.
The preamp offers four inputs: two for MM and two for MC, each with separately adjustable values for input impedance and capacitance, making it ideally suited for operators of multiple turntables or tonearms.
In addition, a toggle switch on the front panel allows switching between RIAA and IEC equalization. Another one allows switching on a subsonic filter independently of the selected curve. And the wealth of features is by no means at the expense of performance.
The Sphono shines with an exemplary signal-to-noise ratio, which is expressed in an enormously clear, differentiated and transparent performance that places the Sphono comfortably among the best in its price class.
