McIntosh commences its 75th anniversary celebration by unveiling the new MC2.1KW Monoblock Power Amplifier.
This latest addition, the McIntosh MC2.1KW Monoblock Power Amplifier, marks a significant leap for audio aficionados. Boasting 2,000 Watts of McIntosh’s signature power, this tri-chassis marvel promises an unparalleled auditory experience, redefining industry standards for amplification and power.
In honor of McIntosh’s 75 years of excellence, the initial 75 pairs of MC2.1KW units sold in each country where McIntosh is distributed will feature commemorative badging engraved with “75 Years” on the handles and a special logo medallion, transforming these units into coveted collector’s items.
President Charlie Randall expressed, “A result of McIntosh’s 75 years as the leader of sound reproduction, the MC2.1KW is the pinnacle of audio amplification and a testament to the brand’s unwavering commitment to sonic perfection. The perfect product to commemorate McIntosh’s 75th anniversary, the MC2.1KW is the embodiment of our passion, and it invites audio enthusiasts to embark on an extraordinary journey through sound with one of our most powerful amplifiers yet.”
Engineered with three modules—housing the famed bi-filar wound Autoformer and two 1,000-Watt amplifiers—the MC2.1KW’s craftsmanship delivers unparalleled sonic fidelity. Leveraging McIntosh’s Autoformer technology, this amplifier ensures the delivery of full 2000 Watts of power into speakers of varying impedances (2, 4, or 8 Ohms), catering to power-hungry setups or those demanding top-tier home audio amplification.
Badge Option
In addition to the MC2.1KW, four existing McIntosh products — the MC1.25KW Amplifier, C12000 Preamplifier, MA12000 Integrated Amplifier, and MCD12000 SACD/CD Player — will offer optional anniversary badging, with the C12000 limited to 75 units per country.
Crafted with stainless steel chassis, black glass panels, illuminated logos, rotary knobs, and aluminum handles, the MC2.1KW’s aesthetic design stands as a testament to visual finesse.
Technologically, the MC2.1KW surpasses its predecessor with larger filter capacitors enhancing low-end frequencies and dynamic headroom. Patented Solid Cinch speaker binding posts for varying impedance ratings, Monogrammed Heatsinks, updated circuit designs, and exclusive McIntosh technologies ensure top-tier performance.
With dual sets of balanced and unbalanced inputs, the MC2.1KW offers enhanced system flexibility, enabling easy connectivity and seamless switching between vacuum tube and solid-state signals. Upgraded circuit designs, modern components, shorter signal paths, and exclusive McIntosh features like Power Guard, Sentry Monitor, Quad Balanced Design, and Power Control complete this state-of-the-art amplifier.
Starting February 2024, the MC2.1KW will be available through authorized McIntosh dealers at a retail price of $50,000 USD. For an exclusive demo, visit the House of Sound in New York City or the McIntosh factory in Binghamton, NY.
